Fall with hints of winter truly arrived this week. On this crisp evening,
The Boudin Barndance presented Part 2 of our two-part preview of the annual
Bloodshot Records party at CMJ. This year it's a fiesta and it all goes
down at Union Pool in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 25 from 1 - 7 pm. Check
out www.bloodshotrecords.com for the complete skinny. It is always a fun
time and not a bad day trip from these parts. College football is in high
gear, so we celebrated at halftime of the Barndance with Percy Faith &
company playing a mess of college fight songs. Hoy, hoy! Finally, we
previewed the sans-vocals twin bill happening at the Narrows in Fall River
next Thursday featuring Laika & the Cosmonauts and Los Straitjackets
(www.ncfta.org). A bunch of releases making their Barndance debut this
evening including new ones from Holly Golightly & The Broke-Offs, Los
Cenzonties with David Hidalgo, Laika & the Cosmonauts, The Derailers, and
Adam Klein. Buttshaker of the week???? Gino Washington slamming it out of
the park with "Hey, I'm a Love Bandit". Now let's all grab a cold one and
get to the goods......
