Wed Aug 30 THE TOMMY CASTRO BAND 8pm $22.00 10pm $15.00 Both $25.00
Castro was voted Blues Artist of the Year in 2006 by the readers of BluesWax, the largest subscribed blues publication in the world. In May 2008, the awards continued at the Blues Music Awards held on May 8, when Castro won "BB King Blues Entertainer of the Year" and his new CD, "Painkiller" won for Contemporary Blues Album of the Year. Prominent observers of the blues such as B.B. King and Carlos Santana have all along extolled Tommy's dynamic musicianship and pointed to him as being among a small few that represent the future of the blues. Castro has earned a handle as one of the hardest working bluesmen on the scene today, gigging on a grueling schedule of almost 300 dates per year. Come see what the fuss is all about on a rare Wednesday show at Chan's!
